Comments on the Clinical Protocol for Providing Medical Care to Children Suspected of Having Congenital Syphilis
Abstract
The article analyzes the provisions of the clinical protocol for medical care of children suspected of congenital syphilis, approved by Order No. 769 of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated October 23, 2009. The authors identify the absence of a clear algorithm specifying examination stages, responsible personnel, and timing, as well as insufficient regulation of certain diagnostic criteria, laboratory investigations, treatment regimens, and follow-up procedures. They argue that the protocol should be revised and legally clarified in accordance with practical diagnostic conditions, national treatment experience, and the clinical and epidemiological features of congenital syphilis in Ukraine.Downloads
