On the Expediency of Introducing the Subspecialties of Dermato-Oncology and Dermatocosmetology as Components of Dermatovenereology
Abstract
The article substantiates the expediency of introducing dermato-oncology and dermatocosmetology as subspecialties within dermatovenereology. The authors relate this need to late diagnosis of skin melanoma, difficulties in managing patients with precancerous conditions, and the absence of clearly defined professional responsibility. The required special training of dermatovenereologists is discussed, including dermoscopy, skin surgery, lymph-node biopsy, and appropriate treatment methods. The authors propose developing postgraduate specialization programs in these fields, taking European experience into account.Downloads
