Study and Evaluation of the Morphofunctional State of the Skin of Patients with Psoriasis
Abstract
The study examined pathomorphological changes in the epidermis and dermis and the distribution of collagen in skin biopsies from patients with psoriasis. Histological, histochemical, and immunomorphological methods were used to assess the morphofunctional state of the skin, including typing of collagen I, III, IV, and V. Persistent foci of destruction of collagen types I and III were identified; collagen type IV was present in the basement membrane, whereas collagen type V was practically undetectable. These findings contribute to understanding the pathogenesis of psoriasis and may support optimization of therapeutic approaches.Downloads
