Diagnostic Criteria for Arthropathic Psoriasis Based on Assessment of the State of Connective Tissue and Bone Metabolism
Abstract
A total of 171 patients with arthropathic psoriasis were examined to establish diagnostic criteria based on assessment of connective and bone tissue. The study evaluated glycosaminoglycans, the fractional composition of sulfated glycosaminoglycans and collagen, urinary oxyproline and uronic acids, alkaline phosphatase indices, and calcium-phosphorus metabolism. Disorders of cartilage and bone tissue were identified even in mild disease, became more pronounced with increasing severity, and were accompanied by impaired bone formation and reduced total calcium.Downloads
