NEW SUBSET OF EFFECTOR HELPER T-LYMPHOCYTES (TH22) AND THEIR PARTICIPATION IN PATHOGENESISI OF SKIN DISEASES

Abstract

A new subset of immune cells – CD4+ Т-helpers 22 (Th22) produce Il-22, but not Il-17, are involved in epidermal immunity, protection from fungi and gramnegative microorganisms, regulation of epidermal differentiation and proliferation, these effects resulting mainly from Il-22 secretion. The data are presented of Th22 participation in pathogenesis of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
