Sexual networks of 465 persons (205 women and 260 men), connected with distribution of a C. trachomatis and T. vaginalis infections in the Kharkov oblast are studied. 96 networks are revealed. Two big networks – 46 and 32 members, 37 diads and 18 triads. 78 person (16,8%) consisted in two greatest networks, in diads and triads consisted 128 person (28,5%). In networks from 4 up to 24 person – 229 (55,7%). Concentration of big networks in the oblast center and adjoining suburbs is noted. Position of an individual in a network determines risk of C. trachomatis and T. vaginalis infections. The structure of sexual networks reflects a phase of epidemic – early in the epidemic phase sexual networks appear densely connected with multiple short loops. In later hyperendemic phases, they appear more loosely connected with a dominance of long branching structures. In an early phaseit is more effective to influence on individuals in the center of networks, in a late phase – on a population as a whole. The further researches of sexual networks are necessary for development of the new concept of struggle with STI in Ukraine.Downloads
