PROBLEMS OF CIRCULAR ALOPECIA IN CHILDREN IN THE LVIV REGION
Abstract
The article examines changes in hair structure and trace-element composition in children with alopecia areata. The study included 29 affected children and 13 practically healthy controls; laboratory and instrumental examinations, consultations with related specialists, longitudinal light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and spectrographic analysis of hair were performed. Thyroid and digestive-tract pathology predominated among the endogenous factors. Structural abnormalities of the hair and a significant increase in several trace elements were identified. The authors associate these findings with the atrophic character of alopecia and indicate the rationale for pathogenetic therapy.Downloads
