Abstract

The study examined blood biochemical parameters in patients with unspecified infection of the subcutaneous fatty tissue (bacterial cellulitis). Biochemical blood analysis was performed for all patients using a Screen Master analyzer, with values assessed according to the international system of units. Slight elevations of total cholesterol and beta-lipoproteins were identified, while no changes in the other investigated biochemical parameters were detected. Among some of the examined women, concomitant gastrointestinal pathology, excess body weight, and obesity were reported; after consultation with a gastroenterologist, choleretic drugs and hepatoprotectors were prescribed.
