Abstract

The study aimed to detect markers of different Chlamydia species among patients with psoriatic arthropathy. Serum antibodies to Chlamydia trachomatis were examined by indirect immunofluorescence, while immunoglobulin G to Chlamydia trachomatis and Clamydophila pneumoniae was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Antibodies to Chlamydia trachomatis at diagnostic titres were detected in 13.3% of patients, and antibodies to Clamydophila pneumoniae in 31.1%; differences between the results may be related to methodological features and possible cross-reaction. The findings indicate the need to examine these patients for markers of different Chlamydia infection agents.
